Recently my husband and I travelled to South America organised by South America Tours.  Nico was our main contact and was always readily available and approachable and he had wonderful back-up staff.  We had an excellent trip visiting Santiago, Easter Island, Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides, Quito and the Galapagos. All of our plans went like clockwork.  Hotels, locations and transport were all thoughtfully and so well chosen.  Pick-ups from airports and guides were exceptional.  Our guides were very well informed and able to pass on their knowledge to make our trip so very interesting. We had a wonderful trip and would thoroughly recommend Nico of South America Tours.

Everything went according to plan.  The transfers and tours were punctual and welcoming  EVERY time!!!! The local itineraries they provided were easy to understand and accurate EVERY time!!!.  It was always reassuring to be provided with and Emergency contact, which was never required. The guides were knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful.  They tried to work out the kinds of things that might be of special interest to us and if there was an opportunity to  do something a little different to the plan, they would offer it.  I guess that’s the advantage of having individual or small group tours.  The tour guides even accompanied us into the airports and assisted with check in in several  places. We were pleased that the tours had a “social responsibility” focus and we were happy to make purchases and take part in activities which were of benefit to the local communities. The hotels were all good quality and offered good service. All the flights were on time and all the airline bookings went without a hitch.  The booking and payment process with South America Tours was easy and Nico and his team provided prompt and helpful advice. We had an exciting, action packed,  but very low stress holiday.

An Amazing South America Experience
We normally book our tours through the major and well-known travel agencies.
I stumbled upon Nico Samuel and South American Tours while surfiing the internet for a tour of South America. At first, we had reservations about this company as it was relatively unknown. However, once we started talking to Nico about our plans all of our concerns were soon allayed.
We found Nico Samuel to be honest, flexible and very accommodating, always listening to our requests and making amendments to our itinerary to suit our individual needs. His input and guidance all along the way is highly appreciated. He was always prompt in responding to our telephone calls, text messages and emails. He is very professional, knowledgeable and thoroughly organised.
He handled the entire tour arrangements for Argentina, Brazil and Peru - flights, hotel bookings, itinerary and transfers. His selection of hotels ( 4 stars as requested by us) was excellent.  Transfers were punctual and conducted in nearly-new, clean vehicles. The guides were English-speaking and experts in their field.
His tours were value for money.
Nico has given us the confidence to travel with him again. We highly recommend Nico Samuel and South American Tours to anyone wanting to travel to South America.

We were looking for a South American itinerary that was based on individual tours rather than group tours. Nico and his team at South America Tours, provided us with exactly what we wanted. We selected our "must do" sights, the length of our holiday and let Nico create our dream itinerary.  With 9 flights, transfers to hotels and numerous guides, we were expecting some hiccups along the way. We were thrilled with the arrangements that Nico and his team organised, as everything worked perfectly. We really appreciated having a local car and guide pick us up at airports for transfers and then call the next morning for our daily tours. We would highly recommend South America Tours. No unpleasant surprises, professional and individualised 5 star service.

I can't speak too highly of South America Tours, the itinerary and travel arrangements they put together for us for our Chile trip were remarkable. As indeed was the seamless movement between cities, the quality of the guides and the representatives at the airports, making life easy. The Atacama and the Bariloche were outstanding but having a gold pass at Las Torres was like a couple of kids in a candy shop, especially the Zodiac trip to the Glacier. The whole package from top to bottom was remarkable and it didn’t hurt to have excellent weather all he way. It was a truely five star experience.

We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Nico & Paula of South Americas Tour for organising our tours/air travel to South America in April/May 2017.  It was a memorable holidays for all of us, our group of 24 members! We cannot emphasised how much patience Nico & Paula have with us changing our itineraries (over 11 times!) and air travels with the places we wanted to visit and the knowledge & experiences of South America.  With Nico’s knowledge of South America, he was able to customise/guide us where to visit first thus leaving Peru last so we can get acclimatised to the high altitudes. The choices of hotels were excellent and the transportation & tours that Nico have in his network are amazing.

I cannot thank Nico and the rest of the team at South America Tours enough. As a travel agent I deal with many wholesalers and tour providers on a day to day basis and I truly feel I have found the diamond in the rough here with Nico! He took care of my clients start to finish with an amazing and personalized independent tour though Patagonia when everyone else told me NO ! That it wasn't possible to do what they wanted or that it was simply too hard. Nothing I asked was ever too difficult or too much trouble for him, he went above and beyond to deliver my customers a once in a lifetime, truly spectacular holiday that they will remember for ever and will struggle to top. I hope that I too can travel on one of Nico's itineraries and experience all that South America Tours can offer.

The tour organized by Nico of South America tours for myself and three companions was amazing. We listed places we wanted to see and our time frame and Nico took over from there. The experiences he included in our itinerary were varied and thoroughly enjoyable. His organization of all of our transfers enhanced our tour. The people who met us ensured we arrived at our accommodation, understood the currency and customs of the place we were visiting and then assisted us in all aspects of the processes for our ongoing flight. Our tour was stress free as depicted my one of the seals we encountered. Thank you Nico I will definitely recommend you to my friends and others who plan to visit this amazing continent.

Twelve months ago my son Graham, partner John and myself were planning to travel to South America for the Christmas School holidays at the end of 2015. Our greatest wish was to see the Patagonia Area and the lakes district of San Carlos De Bariloche. When we went to book we found that most recognised tour operators did not have trips over the Christmas New Year Week. Graham works in a school and needed to include the school vacation. As a result I resorted to searching the internet and came up with a company called South American Tours. I rang the firm and talked to a lady named Paula Ramiraz, the firm’s Journey Designer. Paula assured me that she could design a trip to include all the places we wanted to visit. We had a very good idea of all the tourist attractions which we wanted to see from reading brochures. We wanted to spend at least two days in each location and to have good accommodation. Within two days Paula emailed me a quote and a planned itinerary commencing the 17th December and taking in all the places we wanted to visit. We accepted the quote immediately and the booking went ahead. I must admit that I became very worried about the fact that I had picked a company from the internet about which I knew nothing but everything was planned to perfection. We needed to depart Queensland on Saturday 28. November 2015. We had previously booked on a nineteen day excursion with another company before trying to arrange the Patagonia Section which extended over the Christmas New Year period.. South America Tours handled the bookings for our air fares which included eleven flights. At every stop over we were met on arrival and taken to our hotel. Each hotel was first class with wonderful views out across lakes or the ocean. Daily excursions were arranged in each of the six towns where we wanted to stay. All excursions were included but on the second day of our Patagonia trip the local guide stated that as we did not have vouchers we had to pay for a section. When we arrived at the hotel that afternoon I emailed Paula and informed her of the problem and would you believe this I had hardly pressed send and the phone rang in our hotel room. Paula was on the line and assured us that all the excursions were included and that she would speak to the guide and correct the matter immediately. That afternoon the guide turned up at the hotel and reimbursed us. We never had another problem. We travel frequently and we have never experienced such a quick response. We had a wonderful trip. We saw snow covered mountains, beautiful waterfalls and lakes and travelled on trains, buses and boats. We even had a white Christmas in the Paine National Park. It snowed heavily from 3.pm to 10pm. on Christmas Day in the middle of summer. We recommend Paula and Nicolas from South American Tours to anyone wishing to travel to South America.

We had an amazing holiday in South America, travelling throughout Chile, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay and Brazil. Thanks to Nicolas and Paula at South America Tours our holiday experience was a dream. Nicolas and Paula ensured that our itinerary was full of activities and sightseeing, with wonderful accommodation, tour guides, transfers from door to door and all travel to, from and within the countries was arranged. We were really looked after, with no hassle or worries we were able to really enjoy our holiday. Thanks so much Nicolas and Paula you were incredible.

Well we have just come back from an amazing trip to South America and I just wanted to say a big thank you for organising it for us. The trip from Lima to Machu Picchu and then on to Lake Titicaca and La Paz was truly wonderful and we will have memories that last a life time. I am so glad we got you to organise everything for us because there is no way we could have had the same quality experience if we tried to do it by ourselves. It was such a relief to be met at every destination by a representative who had everything under control. We know no Spanish so having local guides who spoke English was essential, especially as we were always on the go. At every airport, at every hotel, and on every tour we were met with friendly knowledgeable staff which made our trip what it was - unforgettable. We did and saw a lot in these 10 days and we know that detailed planning beforehand makes all the difference, so again thanks for a job well done.

Stress free Adventure Holiday" I found South America Tours on the internet and liked the sound of their tours and that you could personalise and do private tours. I put in an enquiry and received a call from Nicholas, the next day. I told him basically what my husband and I wanted and he went from there. He called me nearly every day while he was planning the tour with suggestions, checking what we liked etc. It didn’t take long and we had a 5 week private tour planned. It was that easy, and it continued to be that easy. The holiday was excellent, all the tours and hotels were just what we wanted. I have never been on such a stress free holiday/tour before. We did not have one hiccup in 5 weeks. We saw and did many amazing things and didn’t have to worry about one thing. I could not have done this myself and why try when South America Tours does it so well! Thank you Nicholas and South America Tours.

Our trip to South America in Sept/October which included Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil and Argentina was fantastic. Highlights included Galapagos, Machu Pichu, Iguazu Falls, Rio and Buenos Aires. Our trip was organised by South America Tours who produced a plan that covered all we wanted to see in the time we had. Flights, rail, boats and bus trips were all included. Transfers and tours were excellent and we would definitely recommend using them to plan a trip. "

I had the MOST lovely trip ever. South America Tours staff, who met me at the airports etc, were always on time, always courteous and had good English skills. My seat from Cusco to Puno [Peru] on the Dome train was seat A1, which meant I was at the front of the train, right next to the driver's cabin, and got to see everything from the front, rather than the side! I felt like a VIP! Nicolas rang me during the trip, to see if everything was going ok, and then again, after the trip to get feedback. I've travelled all over the world, mostly by myself, and this is the first time that any travel agent has ever contacted me after I'd paid the money! I strongly recommend South America Tours to anyone who wants a first class, top service, great people skills, with a personal touch, travel agent. "

I testify that my son and I arranged 3 weeks tour to South America commencing 14 December 2015. We spent 24 hours in Mexico City, then travelled to La Paz Bolivia, further to Peru Puno, cusco sacred valley Machu Picchu and the amazons on the Christmas. There after we went to Rio de Janeiro. The 31 of December we were on the Brazilian side of the the Iguacu falls and on the New Year's Eve we were on the Argentinian side of the falls. After sleeping that night at the Iguazu port we left for Buenos Aires the next day. We spent 3 days there, it was fantastic. The night before our departure we were taken to a dinner and a tango show at Cafe de Los Angelitos. The food was Devine and the show exquisite. The travel arrangements, accommodations and local guides were excellent. Every thing was arranged by Mr Nicolas Samuel director of the South American Tours His efforts are much appreciated and I can highly recommend the company. Every sent we spent was worth and we thoroughly enjoyed it. This was certainly one of the best holidays we ever had.

Visiting so many different sites was complicated, but the tour was planned perfectly. At each juncture we were met by staff who took us to our hotel or transport. Private excursions were arranged in most cases or we would join small groups for sight seeing. Everything worked perfectly. We stayed at lovely boutique hotels and learned a great deal about the countries and cultures we visited. Highlights included a Tango Show and dinner in Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and much more. What a great vacation!! Thanks, Nicholas

Recently we travelled to South America. Holland America Line cruise from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires. South America Tours organized our trip around this cruise at our request. This company was the most competitive & was most informative. I was impressed in the way that I could always speak to a ‘person’ immediately & if unavailable would always return a phone inquiry. The company organized & respected my requests at all times. They organized all airfares to & from South America & Australia. We were met at each airport by a guide & driver & then taken to the hotels booked by the Company, plus a private guided tour of the places. This included Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, Iguassu Falls ( both sides), Quito, Lima ( twice) & our Amazon cruise was another highlight. The trip went off without a hitch & for this we were very thankful. I have no hesitation in recommending South America Tours to anyone contemplating a trip to South America. These are the specialists that you like to deal with. They are experienced & familiar with the territory you wish to visit.

A short note to thank you from our hearts for the most wonderful, relaxing but exciting holiday your company organised for me and Fran in South America. Latam Airlines were efficient and friendly. Everyone looked after us as if we were VIPs. Every place we visited had that wow factor especially Foz de Iguasso and the splendid Machu Picchu. Rio De Janerio was a beautiful city. Buenos Aires was interesting as were the glorious cathedrals in Lima and Cusco. The food was appetising and the hotels comfortable. Lake Titicaca was beautiful and we were lucky to have great weather in all locations. Thank you again and we would not hesitate to recommend South America Tours to our friends and family.

After months of research I finally contacted South America Tours to organise a once in a lifetime trip to Peru. Still undecided I liaised with Nicolas who produced itinerary after itinerary before I was finally satisfied, it was itinerary number 6. Nicolas promised me a trip that would leave everlasting memories but as time went by and I made my last payment I was still unsure. Nicolas assured me I would be treated like a Queen and true to his word that is just what happened. At every destination we were greeted with a large board clearly displaying our name our English speaking guide then became our special friend for the next couple of days. The Incas and Manchu Picchu were always going to be the highlight of our trip and we were simply overwhelmed. Our guide, with Inca heritage was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we asked. He also became our photographer and stopped constantly to take advantage of all the perfect spots. Machu Picchu was everything and more than we could ever have imagined. Cusco was an amazing city, The Sacred Valley was breathtaking, the floating islands of Uros were incredible, Lake Titicaca was stunning, and The Amazon was extraordinary. We are extremely grateful to Nico and South America Tours for showing us the highlights of Peru in such a personalised and memorable way and this is one bucket list we can happily tick off. . . .

We have arrived safely home after a very enjoyable 28 day tour of South America. We would like to commend you, your staff and other associates on the organisation of our tour which made it a stress free experience for us. Everything went according to plan. Your guides and drivers were very considerate of our safety and needs, were always waiting for us at airports and hotels and very helpful and knowledgeable of their area. We particularly wish to commend your operation team in Peru, who together with the staff of the Unaytambo Boutique Hotel, when my husband required medical assistance for altitude sickness, were diligent in making sure everything possible was done with no inconvenience or cost to us. As a result he recovered quickly and our tour was not interrupted. . We marvelled at the beauty of what we saw and experienced, met lots of different people and consequently have many memories of a wonderful trip Thank you

South America tours made our whole trip seamless and worry-free. They looked after us every step of the way, even while we were travelling, and were quick to respond to any question or concern we had. They planned our trip catering for our every need (making our plans all work around a wedding) and far exceeded our expectations of customer service. Everyone we dealt with was able to answer every question we had and even offer further advice for all the areas we travelled. All our transfers and tours were with locals so we got personalised service from knowledgable and amazingly lovely people every day!

Thank you very much to SOUTH AMERICA TOURS (Sydney) for organising our tours in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Chile! We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the adventures and was given excellent service by everyone, the drivers, tour guides & hotel staff. They all helped us to make our tours ran smoothly and with ease as per itineraries. Everything in the itinerary happened as described. We had the most wonderful time in South America, in Perito Moreno Glaciers, Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca & Uyuni Salt Flats to name a few. Every place is unique, interesting and magnificent!

We (3 couples) have just returned from our 32 day South America highlights holiday and we would like to say a big THANK-YOU to Nico and Paula for arranging such an amazing trip. Before we went we received all the necessary background information about all 6 countries we were to visit which was very helpful. The majority of the hotels were boutique-style with very friendly staff, great rooms and excellent breakfasts. Even when we had an early morning departure for the airport, before breakfast was served, they catered for us. Everything worked like clockwork - transfers, comfort of vehicles, itinerary, friendly informative guides and the extras, such as lunches at a winery in Chile and Sun Island on Lake Titicaca were very well organised and enjoyable. We weren't looking forward to our 10 hour bus ride from Cuzco to Lake Titicaca but the coach was so luxurious and comfortable we didn't want to get off!!! The holiday was full of highlights but the ones that stand out most would be The Iguassu Falls which seeing both Argentina and Brazilian sides were beyond magnificent and the incredible Machu Picchu of course. We would just like to give one word of caution if visiting The Galapagos Islands. We did not realise that the islands are so far apart and we experienced some very lively night voyages (6-8 hours of "Rocking and Rolling"!!!). Having said that it was wonderful to be able to be so close to the wildlife, with one of our members who suffers from Bird Phobia being able to visit each island and not feel threatened. The snorkelling was excellent and is recommended.

Hi Nico and Paula, Just arrived back from our South America trip and had to send a note to let you know that it was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much. The hotels, the tours, the guides and the itinerary were simply excellent and exceeded our expectations. The stand out for me was the farm lunch at The Sacred Valley (Hacienda Sarapampa). We felt so lucky to visit the home of a local and hear how they live, plus the food and the experience were exceptional. The lunch was limited just to our family and all ingredients were fresh from the farm. They put on a traditional Peruvian dance show between a horse and a Peruvian lady which was brilliant. The horse literally danced! Our guide in the Sacred Valley, Ernesto, was particularly outstanding. The Galapagos tour was also amazing. The islands and the environment of course were beautiful, but the team on the Seaman Journey made it very special. I could go on for hours about all the wonderful experiences! It was a trip of a lifetime made outstanding by your expertise in selecting the best tours and operators for us. Thank you. I will be recommending you guys if I hear of anyone planning a South American tour. All the very best Sam and family

WOW! South America Tours - what a fantastic operator. Being mature, independant travellers, my clients did not want to be part of a "pre-set tour" travelling through South America. However, it was important to set an itinerary where my clients could be looked after (and feel safe) from start to finish using local guides and operators. I was so impressed with the time and effort that Nicolas from South America Tours invested to refine a busy 5 week personalised itinerary (Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia) for my clients. The entire trip ran seamlessly. The clients were extremely happy, had some very unique experiences and felt comfortable and safe throughout the journey using the services provided by South America Tours. Nicolas was able to create an itinerary that worked out much better value for money than other tour operators (who cater for up to 20+ pax). I would highly recommend using South America Tours for all South America itineraries. Thanks Nicolas and the team from South America Tours!

Nico was amazing from the first contact my group of friends and i had to the moment our plane touched down when we got home, it was simply exquisite. The choices of hotels, the locations we went to and the transportation could not be better. For those who thought tours would be strictly timed and with no actual freedom you couldn't be more wrong without having experience this tour company. I heard about Nico online and it was by far the right decision i made choosing to have my holiday with this company. 5 stars simply does it no justice, i would give 6 no.. 10 if they allowed me Keep up the amazing work. You will need me for the next trip shortly.

Thank you Nicolas and the staff at South American Tours for organising our holiday of a lifetime. As experienced travellers who to date have arranged all our own itineraries and travel arrangements we recognised that when it comes to South America you must consult the experts. And we are sure glad we did! We had an amazing time and experienced places and sights we never dreamt of. All our guides were wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. All the hotels were good to exceptional. We know South America can be a challenge but it is well worth it and knowing we had your backup if we encountered problems made for a stress free holiday. We unreservedly recommend your company to anyone wanting a successful and memorable tour of South America.

I can't say enough about the personalised service, advice and expertise you and your team recently provided. 4 weeks in South America and a majestic cruise in Antartica was the most sensational holiday we could ever have wished for. You took care of everything, we had the best drivers, guides and tours with nothing left to chance. You can be sure that everyone we meet that plans to travel to South America will be (and has been) given your details. . Thank you once again. I hope you enjoy these couple of photos that show what a purely magical time we had. Best wishes

Our appreciation and thanks to Nico for arranging our amazing 18 day journey across South America. Our journey began at Buenos Aires and from there we travelled to Iguazu Falls, Lima, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, The Amazon at Puerto Maldonado and finally Santiago. The tour was well organised, with some relativey relaxed days between the more strenuous ones as well as time allowed to adjust to high altitudes. All accommodation, travel, guided tours, transport to and from our accommodation and some meals were included. We could not fault any of the services. The hotels were at least a star above their rating, the tour guides were friendly, very knowledgeable and at our disposal. The transport drivers were skilled and punctual. The whole time we felt safe and secure, with easy access to help if needed. We were very impressed with the overall networking system. The finest attention was paid to detail. It was truly a remarkable holiday and fantastic value for money

Not having ever booked a fully organised tour before, we were a little apprehensive but felt that our lack of Spanish and general ignorance of the region made an organised tour the best option. We could not have been happier with the end result. We fitted in a huge amount of travel in the three weeks and the itinerary was brilliantly arranged to ensure just enough down time and general flexibility in the privately guided tours. We feel more than happy with every aspect of the tour and would recommend Nico and South American Tours unhesitatingly.

I just wanted to thank you for organising such an amazing trip for us to South America. Not only were the tours that you organised exciting and fun, the tour guides were all friendly, knowledgeable and made our visits to each country unforgettable. My family were particularly impressed with how smoothly all airport transfers ran between each destination and the great service and warm welcomes we all received at every stop. Additionally, the hotels you arranged for us were all spectacular and at very convenient locations. We had no issues throughout our holiday, which only highlights what an amazing job you did here. We definitely appreciated your hard efforts in organising this South American tour for our group of 13 people. It is general consensus amongst the group that this holiday was one of the best we've all been on thus far. We will definitely recommend South America Tours to our friends and family.

We had the trip of a lifetime. It was absolutely fantastic. The itinerary South America Tours had planned for us went like clockwork. Every organised transfer was ready and waiting for us at each of our destinations. The tours and guides you organised were great and on time every time. We were also very happy with all the hotels you had booked for us. It's impossible to pick our favourite part of the trip because it was all amazing and unique in its own way. From the Atacama Desert, the Andes Lakes Crossing, The Glaciers National Park, Torres Del Paine National Park, the Patagonia Cruise and Ushuaia. A big thankyou to Nico and the team at South America Tours. We wouldn't hesitate to use your company again or to recommend your services.

From staying at hotels, cruising excursions, exploring areas, living in the countries. We love Latin America and Antarctica and we try to get ourselves there as often as possible. Tap into our amazing knowledge to create a superb holiday.

To email or phone or visit us and ask for a specific independent opinion about a lodge, hotel, cruise, area, attraction, site or your holiday as a whole. We are not tied to any hotel or lodge or cruise or airline.

For your holiday and tweak it as many times as you like. We do all the leg work.

Hotels, transfers, flights, guides activities, dinner reservations, Tango tickets, helicopter flights, glacier trekking to name just a few. We can arrange it all.

Passed on from our overseas partners. As a Latin America and Antarctica specialist we have exclusive deals with a number of lodges, hotels and cruises and are often the first to hear of any special offers.

We know how it works on the ground. We know the guides that speak the best English, the vehicles that have air-con and a purring engine and the transfers that will get you where you need to be at the right time without crazy driving.

We love holidays and we like to get excited about them for months before we go. We find a beautiful looking itinerary sat on our coffee table helps the anticipation.

Just in case anything goes wrong. For example, frustratingly sometimes flights can be delayed. You will always be able to contact us or one of our representatives and we will re-arrange everything so it has as little impact on your holiday as possible.
